Nava Braverman chairperson:
Nava is currently the head midwife at Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem and is responsible for the nursing team at the Center for Victims of Sexual Abuse. In addition she also coordinates the help Center for Families of Trauma at Hadassah. Prior to her current responsibilities, Nava was a midwife and senior lecturer at Hebrew University and Hadassah nursing school, as well as coordinator of “Women’s Health” at Hadassah. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Masters in Public Health from the Nursing School at the Hebrew University and is also a graduate of the School for Political Leadership for Women . Nava also underwent additional training in natural and underwater birth and administrating active birth, instructed imagination, and group facilitation.
Founder and director of “Women and Their Bodies”, Dana is an IVN Social Entrepreneur Fellow. She has been active in promoting the status of women in Israel in both academia and society at large. She has a Masters degree in Anthropology from the Hebrew University. Her thesis was titled “The Gynecological Exam: Body, culture and interpretation in the experiences of Israeli Women.”Dana was the director of the School for Political Leadership for Women at Wizo in Jerusalem and the coordinator of the Lafer Center for Women and Gender Studies. She is a lecturer and a facilitator of women’s groups on the status of women, gender, health and social change.
